Easy Google Profit Scam, Google Biz Kit / Treasure Chest / Money Tree Scams

Thanks for visiting Blogstorm, one of the worlds most popular blogs about internet marketing. There are no shortcuts to making money from Google but if you join the 5000+ people who subscribe to my free RSS feed (there is an email option too) you can learn how to make money from Google by using straightforward, natural SEO techniques.

Hundreds of people a month are searching for the phrase “Easy Google Profit Scam” and “Google Biz Kit Scam” on Google and Yahoo. About 8000 per month find their way onto my article about search engine submission being a scam so I decided it was time to create a real page explaining what the “Easy Google Profit Scam” is all about.

The basic principle is that a system, called Easy Google Profit I believe, promises to make money using Google. I’m not entirely sure what it does because the text is on  a sales letter page and I haven’t read one of those for years.

What I do know is that people are adding the word “scam” to the end of the search term which probably means they don’t trust it.

Perhaps anybody finding this page can shed some light on what the system does in the comments.

Update: May 11th
The BBB has more details:

On April 24, 2009 the Texas Attorney General’s Office announced charges for operating a fraudulent work-at-home scheme against Infusion Media Inc, GoogleTreasureChest.com, InternetIncomeInitiative.com, and Jonathan D. Eborn (“Defendants”), whose “GoogleMoneyTree.com” promised six-figure earnings for conducting specialized Google and Yahoo Internet searches. According to the state’s enforcement action, GoogleMoneyTree failed to clearly inform purchasers that they had been enrolled in monthly memberships and had only seven days to cancel their trial membership. Purchasers who failed to cancel within seven days were automatically charged $82 on their credit card statements each month. In addition to the unexpected credit card charges, customer complaints obtained by state investigators indicate that GoogleMoneyTree failed to actually send the “free kit” and refused to honor customer refunds. The state is seeking an injunction, civil penalties of up to $20,000 per violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, as well as restitution for purchasers.

Just wanted to share, I DID sign up for a program called google profit resource, sounds the same as the other program listed above. I can’t speak for that program, but this one sounds almost exactly the same, register fee $1.99, free 7 day trial, then I was charged a monthly fee of $69.99. I have been doing this for three weeks now. I didn’t immediately cancel – but the first week was horrible! I worked (actually studied and read and set up google adsense, clickbank, etc) for about 10 hours every day for the first 3 days. I thought for sure I was totally scammed or I just wasn’t getting what the literature was telling me to do, but I FOLLOWED the directions step by step, and after spending about $187 total, including pay per clicks, I actually got a check today in the mail for $420!

One thing that is totally misleading, and I’m not sure where people are getting this idea, is that you only have to work a few hours a day to generate a huge income. That is completely false! I am a stay at home mom, so had the time to invest, and believe me, it is SO time consuming, also a little scary because, I think, you have to rely on your intellect and instinct, plus a little luck making sure you pick the right program to be an affiliate for – I am not working 10 hours a day any more (about 6-8 though) and am generating income off the programs I’m advertising for from the first two weeks, I’m becoming more efficient at loading the adds through google adsense and am better at writing ads so I’m seeing an increase in the money coming in. I am in no way affilliated with google, just a stay at home mom and wanted you guys to know this program, scam or not, did cost me money, still is, it’s a monthly fee, but I tried it, worked very very very hard at it, still am, and am making money. It’s better than selling on ebay, which I did for 7 years, garage sailing every weekend, taking pics, loading pics, listing on ebay with all their fees and Paypal fees, then having to pack all that stuff was more work than this (I was a bronze powerseller), NO MORE PACKING-I hated that!! Ebay was a no brainer way to make money, if you knew what to buy and I do, but the adwords, you do have to think and make somewhat educated decisions on what to advertise. Sorry this seems to be the only positive comment on here. So far it looks like I’m going to double my $400 check in my next two weeks. :-) I guess my suggestion is if you do want to stay at home and make money without having to fork out alot up front, sell on ebay-the only down side to selling on ebay is your office is full of junk 24/7, it’s very time consuming, and the packing is the worst part of it all. But I generated about $2800 a month selling, then spent about $300-350 ebay/paypal fees each month and spent an average of $100 each week garage sailing and putting $60 in my suburban each week to go sailing on -my big black burb is a gas hog, but it sure is pretty :-) So that’s my 2 cents.

Good luck every one and I hope you all find work online that satisfies your financial needs.

    Pete,
NOT a good idea…WHY? because these sites advertising those Google Kits detects your ip address therefore, your program will be clicking from the same ip address all night long and on the end the company won’t be charged a hell of a lot because all those clicks will be coming from the same ip address. But I do believe when you push for justice you will get it. Don’t be discouraged on short term, they will get those guys. Most important right now, file in detailed reports of what happened to you to IC3, FTC, in your case: Scotland Yard, Interpol and all those organizations regulating company trades in your country. Get in touch with politicians, that might help to accelerate the process and follow up with what is going on through all other forums from the States. Inform the medias in your corner of the world to make sure it does not happened to other innocents people. Use all the power you can have and definitely dispute those charges. Nobody should pay charges to criminal organizations especially those who goes after the poorest of society. Make sure to mention to your politicians to establish stricter regulations to banks and credit cards companies and any financial institutions who can not even provide you information about those companies charging you. Make sure also to put pressure on your politicians to establish a cybercrime unit amongst your police services to fight these kind of crimes. Never give up…

Do not order anything from google profit.com or any other business where they say you get a free CD (plus shipping and handling) to learn to make money on Google for big profits. They automatically sign you up for numerous programs and you get reoccuring monthly charges on your credit card for these services that they didn’t even tell you they signed you up for. Suppsidly they send you an e-mail with informaiton how to cancel but I never got it. I’ve now cancelled at least 5 differnt programs where they have charged my credit card and I think every time I cancel one, they sign me up for another without my permission. It has been impossible to cancel all of these stupid programs they keep signing you up for. Stay away from any of these type of programs.

This goes for free grants and other such “free” trials or CD’s. They are all scams that bleed you dry with $10 here $7 there, $30 there.

I’m in California and I got taken by this scam also. I contacted my bank after noticing a $47.50 charge to my debit card. They refunded the money to me but said if the company disputes my claim and has proof that I knew about this they would have to take the money from my account again. I also filed complaints with the FTC and BBB. Is there some other agency that deals specifically with this type of fraud that I should file a complaint with? Like the others, I feel pretty stupid myself. I usually can spot a scam but this one caught me by surprise I guess because it had Google in its name. I thought it was part of the company. I was just looking for a way to make some extra money on my off time and it seemed like an interesting thing to learn. I guess I should have known better. I hope I won’t have to cancel my debit card but if I see another shady charge I won’t hesitate to call my bank and cancel it. From what others are saying, it seems like I may end up doing that.

I wish I would have read this sooner

In order to cancel this and make sure they don’t charge you, the representative told me to send an email to customersupport@xmbrands.com and to put the following in the body and subject lines:

    Subject: Trial Cancellation

I spoke with Amy, and I’d like to cancel my subscription immediately. (Give reason for canceling).

well i hate to admit it but i got suckered into this easy google profit. fro a page about mary steadman….geez this is the lik from the supposed newspaper…
    http://national-news-gazette.com/?OVRAW=NULL&OVKEY=NULL&OVMTC=content&OVADID=27248983021&OVKWID=0
the terms were for paying for ‘my money plan’ $49.84 after a 3 day trial
and for ‘search profit system’ for $28.71 after 10 day free trial
both of these to continue each month.
i read the terms, and thought well hell i can risk that much and cancel if need be. but after looking over the info, then doing research which led me here i decided to cancel….i am not interested in getting scammed.
so i had actually kept the original site minimized and tried to get back to the page to review the terms and get the number to cancel….which mysteriously would not open.
then i got real nervous and got a friend to go to the original address (which i just posted) and then get to the order page and he copied and pasted me the terms…
so i got the # to call-had a nice pleasant chat with the lady who answered(shelly) and she gladly cancelled, gave me a cancel confirmation #. didnt askk any questions and assured me my cc would not be charge any charges.
BUT she gave me a complimentary access to the 2 websites for 25 days to view and if i like d and wanted to continue call them back…hmm i thought thats nice, but wait, now i am seriously thinking i should not click on them at all and stay far away.
anyways when i called the # to cancell the answering machine answered as ‘ corporate customer service’, i had to wait on hold for about 10 minutes. the number from the terms is 1-888-673-3212
after i signed up i got a page from ‘automatic wealth connection’
and the 1.95 charge on my cc was from ‘money mastery’
i hope any of this info will help someone else

If anyone is crazy enough to ignore the time tested adage of “if it sounds too good to be true……” then at least use a virtual credit card number. Many of the larger card banks provide a “virtual” number that links back to your real card (Citibank for sure) because a lot of people won’t buy online with their real CC.

You go to the bank web page, request the “virtual number” and can limit the amount that will be paid out, and set up an expiration, and even make it for just one transaction. that way, if the scammers want to go back and get more from your account, the CC number “bounces” and they get nothing.

You may have to look for it on the web page, but its a really good way to be safe, and let you take a shot at something, without risking all of your credit card limit while you fight to cance.

    Hello All,

I came across this scam from facebook but can’t seem to find access to it again form there, does anyone have the link by any chance please?

    Many thanks and kind regards

Also, after cancelling, just to make sure, get a new card and cancel ur old one so they still dont try to charge u. No one is there to protect Americans anymore, how can a gov’t full of scammers help us anyways. Gotta DIY nowadays.

  • rick

Is there a difference from “easy google profit” and easy google profit scam”? The reason I ask is because Yahoo’s “homepage” highlighted the story and told about a girl making big bucks. If it was not true then why would Yahoo and cnn talk about people making big money with it?

There must be a difference or Yahoo and cnn did not do their homework before breaking the story.

thanks for any feedback I can get because I am about to try it

  • flescorpio

This is a major scam. I requested the original offering for $1.00. Two days letter I received a call from my debit card’s fraud unit asking me to verify a charge of $84 from a Beauty Supply House, not Google Profit House. I cancelled the card but the credit union says they can’t do anything until the $84 is withheld from my account and a claim from refund is made. This is absurd, and I will never participate in this type of bulls**t on line again.

p.s. does anyone know how to contact Google Profit House directly? The 800 440-4397 is incessently busy and there is no known direct e-mail address to contact them…???!!!

Looked up easy google profit and clicked on a link from a supposed reporter (Jennifer Martinez) at WKTV 13 in NY, NY who did a report on how she tried it and was easy and profitable however when I googled WKTV it took me to the real station in Utica, NY and there is no Jennifer Martinez in the list of Bios. When you click on (WKTV 13) weather it displays the weather in Sacramento, CA and when you click on home Jennifer Martinez is now Cathy Diaz. This fake WKTV lists underlined links in the report to easy google profit which takes you to some scam looking site wanting your info. It has the tell tale sign of being a scam by having the countdown clock in it—-act now before the clock reaches zero or you may be charged full price.

Do not sign up for this these people are terrible about getting a hold of customer service and they take money out of your accounts without authorization from you… I repeat do not sign up for this service they will scam you!!!!

  • elizabeth

I fell for it! I put in my credit card info before I read this page. I just called my credit card and closed the account. Should I do anything else to stop this crazy mistake?

  • AlphaAnna

Google Profit Club is a scam because when you try to get a refund they say that we ticked the box which agreed to the terms. The box has already been TICKED, so this is a lie to begin with.
    https://secureweb.secureweboffer.com/offer/go3/step2/?ai_sid=4207&ai_sid_key=rk7035d121&ai_sid=3881&ai_sid_key=x9y

When you untick the box and refresh the page, the tick always returns, showing that this company are dishonest. They do not leave the box blank as this would mean they would be unable to trap anyone, as we would either ignore the box altogether or read what was written beside the ticked box before we place a tick.

I cancelled on monday but they would not give me a cancellation reference nor would they send me an email to confirm my cancellation. The only alternative is to cancel my credit card altogether as my bank is unable to block them due to their set up.

Children as young as 13 have been caught in this trap and lone parents who have been left devastated. As far as we were aware, we were only buying an ebook for £2.48. There was no mention of a website we can view, becoming a member, nor was there any emails confirming what we agreed to or the fact that the 5 days had expired and what they intended to do.

Sorry, but any company that can deceive vulnerable people already struggling is nothing but scam. I wrote to the top guy named GOORU who like his employees, said we ticked the agreement.

I have reported this to Google and Watchdog as everyone needs to be warned of their trickery and dishonesty.

  • Peggy

    @AlphaAnna

Did you get any kind of receipt for ticking the box? The law is that business’ “must”
give you a receipt for agreeing or ticking that box. Have them send you a receipt that shows you agreed to their terms, that is if you can get a hold of them .

Here is what law says about how they must give you copy of agreement.
    57. Section 907(a) of the EFTA, l 5 U.S.C. j I 693e(a), provides that a ”preauthorized
electronic fund transfer from a consumer’s account m ay be authorized by the consumer only in

    Section 90349) of the EFTA, 1 5 U.S.C. j 1 693a(9), provides that the term ‘- ‘preauthorized
electronic fund transfer’ means an electronic fund transfer authorized in advance to recur at
    substantially regular intervals.’f
    58. Section 205. l 0(b) of Regulation E, 1 2 C.F.R. j’ 205. l 0(b), provides that
k’îplreauthorized electronic fund transfers from a consumer’ s account may be authorized only by
a writing signed or similarly authenticated by the constlmer. The person that obtains the
authorization shall provide a copy to the consumer,”

evidence the consumer’ s identity and assent to the aulhorization.” Id. fll 1 0(b), cmt 5. The
Official Staff Commentary further provides that Eslaln authorization is valid if it is rcadily
identifiable as such and the terms of the preauthorized transfer are clear and readily

    60. Section 9 l 4 of the EFTA, 1 5 U.S.C. j 1 693/- provides that ”! n lo writing or other
agreement between a consumer and any other person may contain any provision which
constitutes a waiver of any right conferred or cause of action created by this subchapter.”

  • AlphaAnna

Hi Peggy, Thanks so much for this information which will be very useful. I received nothing, not even an email to say I agreed to anything, no receipt, no call, no reminder, no welcome to their site after they took the money, nothing.

Thanks for you help and time in this matter. I will try to call them to get a cancellation reference and ask about the receipt. Does this law only stand in the US or for any country? I live in the US.

Thanks again for your help. Kind regards, Anna

  • Jeff Delke

OK, so here’s it is straight forward. There is no such thing as a free meal or easy money. In my younger years, I searched for the golden ticked that would lead me to riches, and all I got in return is holes in my pockets and debt to my credit. I was trying to work to smart and not hard at all. There is a thing called working smarter and not harder. But that only comes after you have put in the hard work to really know what your are doing. My favorite saying is “If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. But If you teach a man to fish he will eat for a life time.” Take this as a fishing lesson. Stay as far away as you can from the things that promises you riches, especially if they tell you to pay some sort of fee. It is like paying $2000.00 on your Credit Card to go to a conference for some on to tell you how get out of debt. duh! Rather dig down deep search your heart and find out what you really like, dream about it, and make it happen.

Your best defense always is to research the company if it looks to be of any value to you.

I know you were interested in Google Profits and most of it is fraudulent….and the ones that aren’t are way too complicated…..

Check this out…..it is starting to work for me now and I know you could use the extra money too. It’s only $27 bucks. This is “floating” me right now since I don’t have a job! (I had to do something with all of my free time…hehehe).

My boy, Charles Smith, is “cycling” 10 times a day now! So it’s working and legitimate!

The benefits attached are pretty useful too.

    @Jeff Delke
These were supposed to be WORK at home opportunities.
The problem is that there are too few of these opportunities out there. I am sure most of the people who signed up wanted an additional income for the work effort they put in (i.e. not a free ride).

These sites were listed on reputable jobsearch sites (yahoo, Caereerbuilderetc..).

I was mainly drawn to the opportunitiy to work from home. I was fairly sure all the riches were exaggerated but any additional income would be worth trying. Luckily I was not too desparate and way too paranoid to give out my CC info for the opportunity so they didn’t get even $2 from me.

  • sam

Yes I just wanted to back Sutfi up, I have worked hard all my life, working and bringing up my children. I too never thought I would make millions, but it was offering a fair amount of money for a fair amount of hard work I never at anypoint thought it was a free ride, just an opportunity to work from home whilst I was bringing up my small children. I dont consider myself stupid nor idle, I saw and opportunity and decided to take it. Yes I should of investigated futher, but like thousands thought it was part of google and seemed legitimate. A lesson learnt, that this is a scam.. we are not the first and unfortunately will not be the last to be taken in. Thanks to this blog we can only advise people of the misfortune that we have had and advise anyone not to deal with these fraudsters.

I just got off the phone with my credit card company. The reason I trusted it, is because it was a News ad on the MS Money page and you would be working for Google. Google shares are up around 442.00. I can’t see how MS Money and Google can allow this type of advertising, slash, news article can be on the same web site page. I read this page everyday. It talked about a new wave of marketing working for Google. That was the way I read it. So basically, these people are using MS Money’s Name and credibility and Google’s Credibility to suck people in to this link posting position that pays you from Google. This is fraud.

Call your credit card companies and cancel your card and have it re-issued. The Federal Trade Commission needs to jump on Google for Profit and MS Money page for putting it out there for millions of Americans to read right next to the daily stock charts. It is across state lines so the FBI should take an interest. Lots of money is being syphoned from Americans under the name of MS Money and Google.

Yes, we should have known better but, this particular scam used Google and MS Money to advertise. Who benefitted? MS Money accepted money to place an ad for a scam. This is fraud. Wake up America.

Cancel your credit cards and have them re-issued.

  • http://www.tatilyerinianlat.com tatil

    thank you very good

  • Alain

    Strangely,
they also give themselves the right to reveal your information to “telemarketers” in their “Terms and Conditions”. When those Telemarketers call you they are selling you publicity to put on the internet. I was on a “do not call list” and I was called by a telemarketer claiming to be an affiliate only a few weeks after registering with Google Kit and just before I received my statement from the bank. Those guys really play dirty now… and with sooooooooo much arrogance…

  • Donna

I have registered a complaint with security@google.com. I suggest that everyone who was sucked into this fraudulent company posing as Google, to contact Google security. Register your complaint about the company that mailed you the disk (GP-returns P.O. Box 2999, Riverton, UT 84065-2199). Cancel your credit card. This company (person) is using Google’s name to gain trust and credibility. It is fraud. There are no instructions, no one answers the 866 995-9812 number on the disk package. Do not install the disk in your computer. MS Money needs to be contacted, that was apparently a paid advertisment, not a news blast. The Federal Trade Commission and FBI need to grab this guy if they can find him. They are incredibily arrogant. Using Google’s name and logo on the MS Money page.
    Incredible.
Have a good day America. Time for us to take charge and speak out.

anyone have the program CD Easy Google Profit Scam that get me?

  • jan crisostomo

Here is the website I found: http://www.newyorkgazettenews.com/index.php?aid=6675294&KW=Ad3

It actually states that the kit is free, but when you go to the site, there is the nominal charge…but at the very bottom it tells you 1) Google does not endorse this program
and 2)$79.90 will be charged to your card monthly if you don’t stop it in 7 days.

What really bugs me is that the New York Gazette wrote this article, giving it a sense of reality and not a scam!

  • Benjamin Szucs

My opinion of this is that it is deceptive because the system may promise to make you money but then how many similar systems are there that people have tried and haven’t worked. I am sceptical and cautious when it comes to empty promises. Many people market online to pull a scam if they want to and once they have got you that’s it. I don’t trust it, it’s easy get excited when you are promised the world for a cent or a dime, but when you have lost it then what?

  • mike

What a big time rip off / scam . This is huge humiliation on Google’s part and a shame that they would be part of taking advantage of people in the most vulnerable of times. Make sure you check your credit / debit cards for ‘rogue’ charges. We are disputing our 3rd charge now and it’s all bogus company’s hidden in the sticks somewhere. I plan on contacting the BBB, attorney general, and major network news agencys about it.

  • Donna

    Hello America,
I received this e-mail from Google….At least I think it was Google. I did report the scammers to Google security and got this response. But, no one has contacted me further.

Here is the e-mail from Google.
    Dear Donna,

Thanks for sending us this report. As you noticed, this company is not related to Google and is part of a string of Google money making scams. We are working to get these kind of scams shut down, but need your help. Would you be willing to work with our lawyer (copied) to provide additional information about the scam below? You are not required to help in any way, but we would appreciate any information you could give us that would help us take down this scam.

    Regards,

Good day out there in the cyber territories, I’ve been trying all day to get in touch with Google Profits Resource thru their “Contact Us” address, and the help phone lines that sent me overseas somewhere, although I can imagine the sweet East Indian lady is just trying to feed her family too. But anyway, just trying to get more information about the sign up procedures. I subscribed to the program off of a ad boasting support from ABC News, AOL, CNN, USA Today, MSNBC and others I don’t recall. I received the CD 6 days later, but it didn’t work, so I called the number on the packet, listed right under a big Google logo. Incidentally, I did go to my bank and cancel my bank card and ordered a new one with a different number three days after I gave them my old one to order with thank goodness. Maybe this is why I can’t get thru. Oh yeah, the website they gave me after the CD didn’t work is http://www.googleprofitresource.com. I am thankful for finding this blog site to voice my opinion. But man oh man it sure is tempting to want a program like that to work, I really think I could do good, if only to earn $25-50 a day to supplment a low income winter season. Any body out there need a truck driver.

Okay here it is… DID u see the bottom where it says No more comments are able to be posted due to spam at the end… of all of them, its because every coment to show real ppl, they just did a different style of typing in each saying”Bro, YOU RULE” and other convincing strategys to make you tangled in the trap of SCAMS!. Find out a scam is easy, usually hard to believe pop ups are SCAMS because they are too clingy, especially when u try to stray from the page. Anyways they use the word ITS not a scam to make u tempted to believe, they also use a very wordy yet professional page, but TO AVOID the mix up, either search it up on google “Is… a scam?” and usually the most common responses will reveal the cloud!

  • Eunice

Google Biz kit is a scam. This company claim that it is just for $1.97 but before you know what hits you, you get charged $79.95 each month for nothing. The org sells your name and credit card information to numerous companys and they just bill your credit card at randon.
Google should not be associated with this fraudulent scheme and should not all the name “Google” to be associated with such.
THIS IS HIGHLY DECEPTIVE. THE GREATEST SCAM ON EARTH

  • Gabriel

Making real money takes time, effort, and work even on the internet. If you are serious about working online and out of your home. Go buy the book “4 hour work week” by Timothy Ferriss. It’s a great read and if you WORK for it you can have it to. It will get you started on how to do it for real. He has a couple of business, turned online and tells and show real examples of how to really start, build, and run a business. But it’s been a good guide for me! It still takes a lot of WORK, start-up cost, some know-how, and research, and a team of people to do all the steps. But I’m about to really launch my online business next week based on what he has shared in his book! Start the process now and plant the seeds!
    Best of Luck!

Good afternoon. My name is Gerald and I was scammed by these slugs. I have joined a class action lawsuit to put these slugs out of business. If you want to join me please contact my attorney at whaselden@kamberedelson.com

    His name is Will Haseldon.

Smucks like this scam should be put in jail.

  • Carla

Ok, I got scammed – I couldn’t get a person for 5 days to answer the phone – they claimed they called back. However, I filed a dispute with my card company and have to wait for the paperwork and will have to find out if I will even get my money back – I hear no, from others. Well, the clearly misrepresent themselves and I told them so…they actually told me they were reporting me to badcustomer.com. It’s a shame because they clearly do not tell you all the facts AND did you see the info they sent – it isn’t clear even if you did want to do it AND a friend that got scammed also got insurance charged to her account from Pakistan – so they clearly are using the cards to steal as well….unreal! I can’t understand WHY GOOGLE doesn’t do something – and how are they listing as seen on CNN etc……I asked for the clip….haven’t seen it nor did I ever get my kit in the mail…crock!

  • mike

motherfukkers need to go to prison for it

  • Alex

Wow, I’m glad that i came across this before i signed up for this scam. I was just about to enter my payment info until i decided to do some research about this google kit. I have no idea how they can even get away with this.

  • Erik

Look, from any “xxxmademoney” page you see, it’s always the same 5000$ check with the same bank account at the bottom. These people actually make money for each referral they are able to pull with their little page using this webpage. The money maker is the referral itself. SCAM. Make money by making others thinking they can make money. It’s like “buy my book on how I made Billions of dollars” and the trick is to sell a book that says just that…

  • Dave

What the scammers have done is terrible. But come on guys, if you are stupid enough to fall for this and give your bank details away without researching it first, you pretty much deserve what you are going through, I’m sorry, but all you people have done in signing up for this is that you are greedy and lazy. I can’t believe all you people fell for it. Obviously the scammers should be shot or something, but really, how could you all be so thick?!

  • Dave

All I did, was I got the advert (which was a pop-up anyway so instantly thought negatively of it), then typed in ‘google biz kit’ in google and the top link was this webpage. Doesn’t take much effort to realise these thigns are scams guys. I knew within 3 minutes of getting the advert.

  • sam

Are you bored Dave??? nothing much to do???? Well Dave, let me tell you, the two things I am not, is lazy nor greedy…. a mum of 3, running my partners business and studying! I think I can count myself out of your ignorant comments. I simply want to earn some more money. I dont consider myself stupid, and never at anytime thought it would be handed on a plate to me. I fell for a scam that thousands and thousands have fallen for. You, have obviously got far too much time on your hands, and perhaps you, yourself should get a job, instead of making ridiculous, insulting comments.
We only wish that we could all be like you Dave, who has obviously never put a foot wrong.. never made a mistake… What a hero you are Dave!

  • Dave

I do have a job thank you, a very good one at that. But to answer your comments, no I don’t think I’m a hero in anyway. No I’m not bored. No I have very little time on my hands, I’m actually an incredibly busy person. I work and play very hard. Like I said, I was on this site within 3 minutes of finding the scam, and I’ve just checked back to see if anyone replied now. I genuinely feel for you and others who have been scammed, but just because thousands of people have been scammed, doesn’t make it a stupid thing to have done – just that thousands of people acted stupidly. Everyone does it from time to time. Hardly anything in life is free and/or easy generally, and that’s partly why I find it amazing that so many people fell for it, without even researching it! I was unemployed for 4 months of this year and it has been, and still is very hard.

  • Do not be fooled

The Google Cash kit mentioned above worked for me and for many other people, but results may vary by person. Also, keep in mind that I got the grant trials for free, but there is a shipping fee and some advertisers have terms regarding continued billing after trial expires if you do not cancel. Some advertisers require trial to be canceled within seven or fourteen days of the trial period while some other advertisers give you thirty days to cancel the free trial. Please see terms per advertiser regarding the specific amount of days required to cancel your free trial before continued billing begins. The grant kits I recommend usually retail for around seventy dollars. If you enjoy the products, simply do nothing. You will be billed at a discounted price, usually around fifty or sixty dollars at the end of the free trial period. By signing up YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THIS CONSUMER TRANSACTION INVOLVES A NEGATIVE OPTION AND THAT YOU MAY BE LIABLE FOR PAYMENT OF FUTURE GOODS AND SERVICES, UNDER THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, IF YOU FAIL TO NOTIFY THE SUPPLIER NOT TO SUPPLY THE GOODS OR SERVICES DESCRIBED. Thanks and good luck with filling your first application! T&C: By submitting an order, You automatically receive a 7-day trial to the Internet Home Business Kit. Your 7 day trial begins immediately upon placing your order. Once the customer’s trial is active you have 7 days to decide whether to accept Your Subscription. Prior to the expiration of the 7-day trial period, You may cancel Your subscription by calling toll-free at 1-800-497-4988 or 1-801-578-9020 (International customers please call 1-866-321-2728), or by writing to 1810 E Sahara Ave, Suite 1-341, Las Vegas, NV 89104. Should You fail to cancel Your Subscription within the 7 day trial, You will be billed $1.95. Additionally, You will be billed $69.90 again 7 days from the Trial Start date and every month thereafter for Your monthly Subscription unless canceled by You. DAVE-Hmmm, thousands of people acted stupidly huh, lets see what the FTC thinks of it, I’ll be right back with some friends!!! Maybe Dave is a buddy of the scammers, or maybe Dave is THE SCAMMER!, Investigations are rolling now, IP#’s , fake names, it will all soon be exsposed! YOU CANT HIDE SCAMMERS, I have a really nice oak tree awaiting for any scammers I find out about, the crows have to eat too!

  • Dave

Yes, you guessed it. No, ofcourse I’m not a bloody scammer, though I feel pretty scammed that I now receive an email every time someone posts on here. I really only came on here in the first place to make 2 points. 1) I couldn’t believe how many ppl fell for a scam and I thought that was pretty dumb. 2) I hope the scammer(s) get absolute hell. Please don’t take it all out on me. I’m entitled to my opinion and if you fully read everything I’ve written on here, you will see that I’ve actually been quite fair

My wife got caught by this thing but luckily used a credit card that was near it’s limit so we were able to report the card stolen (basically was) and get a new number before getting charged. Found a good writeup of how the whole scam works here:

  • nisa

I paid the 2 $ for this thing and after reading your comments I cancelled my debit card immediately. You should be able to get a new card in 5-7 days. It is not too feasible but worthwhile if you want them not to be able to get your money.

  • Ashley

I thought this was a scam also I noticed they had a few typos on their web page. LOLOL. Not professional at all.

  • tammy

I found out about this scam from WAFB channel 9 so maybe they should help me and everyone else to get their money back or at least do another story about it being a BIG SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thank god we only lost $20!!but i dont want others to loose more!!i know how much $20 can be to someone i know its a lot to me it was my last $20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and im a SINGLE MOTHER OF 4!!!someone need to put a stop to this NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holly

haha, look at this site http://net-news-daily.com/3/?s=VC_Pop14n seems sort of real, then I looked at this site: http://www.joshmadecash.com/?s=VC_Pop

If you look at the screen shots of the supposed “money” they made…they both have the same amout of $306.98. Just thought that was funny. This is such a scam, don’t do it! Donate plasma or something! you can make a good extra income doing that, and it’s not that painful…and it’s a good cause! My boyfriend and I go to the local plasma donation place, and if we both do it twice a week for a month we make an extra $480 a month, which is about enough for groceries a month!

  • Im Worried

i only signed my full name, phone number, home address and email address on that google profit kit web site. i found this page before i signed any credit card info. will i be mailed a bill at home or harrassed through phone calls?? is there anything i should worry about??

  • PistonBroke

I saw this ad. I am pist and broke. I thought this would solve all my problems, the ‘Messiah’ had finally arrived for me, my time had come to fulfil my every ambition, to venture into greener pastures arms wide open embracing the new life as I ran through the fields of green in slow motion, the soft music of success gently playing in my ears. This dream was finally a reality, life was great I was unstoppable…

Then I remembered… I’m so broke I don’t have the $1 it needs for shipping!!!

Turns out luck was on my side after all…green fields here I come…woohooo!

  • Jared

k.. i jsut signed up for this before looking for anything as far as scams go… how do i unregister before they jack 146$ from me?

  • Meso

I got scammed by this too. I even got a supervisor on the phone and screamed my head off. I never authorized any additional charges to my card, and no where was it stated. If anyone wants to email the guy directly, here is his email address, ScottB@pacificwebworks.com Pass it on to everyone you know. Someone needs to take these people down.

  • Tee

I also fell for this, unfortunately (for the record, I’m very cautious when it comes to this stuff, but this supposed oppurtunity just seemd different than other scams I have seen). I came to my senses about an hour later while lying on the couch that I should probably look into this. Nowhere did it say anything about additional fees until you had already given your info. I reported my credit card lost an hour after registering and reading comments on this site. I also plan on reporting this deceptive business practice to my credit card company and the FTC or the appropriate places. None of the phone#’s they give you work, so by the time you finally have it cancelled, you will already be charged for exceeding the trial period they only tell you about after you sign up. BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS CANCEL YOUR CC OR DEBIT CARD IMEDIATLEY. I WOULD DO IT EVEN IF YOU ALRADY CANCELLED YOUR FORCED SUBSCRIPTION. Why would you trust these people now who tell you they will not bill you in the future or possibly sell your info to other scammers.

I do have a problem with anyone who critizes people who fell for this for being lazy or think that we somehow thought we could get rich for doing nothing. At most we are guilty for having a little faith in humanity, or reputable companies like Google who do little keep their brand from being used in this deceptive manner . Speaking for myelf and im sure many others, we were all willing and agreed to do the work and put the time into the project required to see profit, and I’m sure most never expected to see millions, but just additional income to help during these tough times. I beleive that is a reasonable expectation for your time and effort. If you take time to learn the system, post the links, and so on.., then how the hell is that being lazy. I currently have a full-time job as well in case some people may question my work ethic. I was willing to put the additional time in after my day job. These types of schemes are the reason you can’t trust anything these days, and will most likely hurt the honest businesses that really do want to offer a fair deal. Good luck everyone.

  • Scott

Easy Google Profit is without a doubt a very high level scam. It is using a high profile name (Google) and the Google search engine team claims they are not part of this. That is crap!!!! They would be all over this if it were true. Don’t let anyone tell you different. I started getting cc charges several week ago from this place. When I called them @ 1-866-995-9812 to find out what was going on, they told me what this was. I told them I never signed up for this and to please give my money back and remove me from their system. I was told that this would be done and to allow 5 buisness days for the refund. About 2 weeks later, I received another charge on my cc for 10 times the previous amount. When I called the Google # back, I was told that my request was denied. I then told the idiot call taker that I was going to take this complaint to the Attorney Generals office and file a formal legal action. You cannot get someones cc and just start charging what you wish without permission. This was my 3rd and final warning!!!! I was then told again that I would get a full refund within 3-5 buisness days and given a confirmation # for this promise as well. I have had to cancell my cc and join a credit protection agency because of this. I am going to my Attorney Generals office first thing Monday morning to file a legal complaint and to my Sheriffs office to file Felony charges of cc theft and to regain my losses due to this incompetent company. My state allows for $ losses I’ve incurred from this matter. I encourage anyone else that has been affected by this high level scam (Easy Google Profit) to do the same. Good luck. Scott from Colorado 11-24-2009.

  • Christi

I fell for it to help someone out. I have had multiple phone calls to them demanding my refund because I had returned and cancelled without use, received it, then saw another fee the next month for $99 in which they said they were Google Profits but that it was a “differenct cust. service” and this is separate. The rep then told me to look in the fees and pricing section to look for their # AND IT WAS NOT IN THERE! So she got her supervisor and the sup. said it was the “other” cust service’s mistake but they will refund me half. I now have to close my bank account! I’m livid.

number 1 reason why you cant believe the claims of google home working kits blogs/websites!! check this out and see for your self its all lies and scam artists
check the photo then check the so called locations of the people in the photograph and then check the sites that advertise this scam and draw your own conclusions….

    http://www.thedaily-news.net/finance/uk/?ukv

did you notice the man and woman in the photo to the right? did you notice there the same but have different names? did you notice that these 2 sites are almost identicle?
are filled with so called possitive reviews and comments but your not able to make a comment that shows up and your comments have to be authorised 1st b4 there even seen by any1 else online?!!! take notes these are the signs of scams!!!
also both sites send you only to 1 other site regardless of the number of advertising links there was! and all of them go to the same site thats not even endoursed or sponsored by google its self and yet for a mere hand full of change you get the kit to make 1000′s in just 2-3 days….

i tried this out and was shocked to find i was billed £50 from my bank after paying $3 for a instruction kit on this home job with google
the so called kit never arrived and the refund period was long over b4 a realist test of the kit that didnt arrive could be made.
no replies have ever been sent by the company and the website has since vanished from the web ;(

  • Patricia Allen

Last year (2008) I purchased the CD for the $1.97 postage and never received it. In the meantime, the company (Easy Google Profits) began a monthly deduction from my checking account for $39.90. I called my bank and gave them the info to stop payment for future billings. They did but the next month another deduction was made for the same. When I went to the bank again, it was discovered that it wasn’t flagged because Google Profits changes some code they send to the bank each month so it cannot be flagged for ‘stop payment’. Long story short, I ended up having to change my debit card so they couldn’t access my account. The bank was kind enough to refund me the almost $80.00 after I filed a complaint and they researched it.

    Re: Patricia Allen

Good for you. I wish I was so lucky.

  • Roman

GET YOUR REFUND! This is a scheme of two companies, both with a rating out of Utah’s BBB as “F”. After your initial purchase the opportunity to re-charge you is divided among two ‘billing companies’. The $69 subscription charge is from Google (Money) Profits and the $99 one-time charge is from Pacific Webworks Inc. That company had to settle with the Utah Division of Consumer Services in 2007 and has conditions including having to refund after legitimate consumer complaints and for legal action for receiving more complaints. You can see details of the settlement at BBB Utah profile on Pacific WebWorks Inc. I threatened action to both companies and after a lot of talk got promised refunds from both ($99 and $ 47.50). Please do not give up — call number on your bank statement and argue, do not be deterred, speak to supervisors. DO NOT HANG UP (they try everything including pretending the phone connection is bad!) Also file an online complaint with BBB Utah which they will forward to company and track the case until you are refunded. DO NOT BLAME YOURSELF… it is a well-devised scam. Fight back properly.

  • amanda

Google Profits are scams and thieves, they say nothing about a monthly fee in their ad yet you get charged 47.50 every month, you try to cancel and they still charge you, this has gone on long enough. Goggle Profits should be sued for all the money they have taken from people, any lawyer out there who wants to take on this case please let me know and i will be one of the plaintiffs.

  • Mad and broker

Google prodits is a scam, and when you call to try and get your money back all their operators tell you nothing except they can’t help you, they can’t give you someone you can understand, they can’t give you another number to complain about them and most importantly they can’t give you your money back. Ddon’t waste your time or money, for $2 it ended up costing me over $100.

I almost got suckered into Google Profits and Google Profit Library. I went through the process and got my memberships this morning. Then feeling of “This is too good to be true” hit me. I searched out scam sites and caught on real quick. I was able to contact both and cancelled my membership after finding their sites again and checking the Terms and Conditions. Warning to the wary…always, always, always check the Terms and Conditions. I just saved myself a bunch of grief.

If you are looking for biz with integrity… stay away from Google Biz and Google Profits = THIS IS A SCAM!!!! I ordered this back in October. You have 30 days to try it out and if you cancel you will not pay more than the 1.95. I CANCELED WITNIN 48 HOURS! Since then I have been billed $47.50 and $99.00 I called the same number that I canceled with originally and they said they had no record of my cancelation. When I found the cancellation # they originally gave me they said it really didn’t matter that I cancelled within the 30 day time as the $99.00 was a non-cancelable one time fee. They did say they would cancel me as of today but they would not be refunding my money. I do have my bank disputing this on my behalf and am contacting the Attorney Generals Office to inform them of this misrepresentation of the facts. DO NOT GET CAUGHT IN THIS SCAM!!! There are plenty of legitimate online business offers and ways to do business. INTEGRITY IS NOT PART OF THIS COMPANIES BUSINESS PRACTICE!

  • Jen

I feel for this scam too because they showed a internet news article to lure you in. It makes it look like a real deal thing and when you see the name Google, which is a friendly name, you feel you can trust it. But let me tell you, I signed up got charged my $1.29 and immediately I realized I’m an idiot this is a scam. So I explored and found the number to call to cancel. I CANCELED the very next day and they gave me a confirmation number and everything and they STILL charged me $77.83 three days later. Where is that in the fine print? Even after canceling they continued to take my money. So I had to close my debit card account and get a new one so they can’t continue these payments. These people need to be locked away! And of course, I need to be more careful trusting what you read on the internet!

  • http://onlineprofitkit Ivis

this is all a scam. It just happened to me . No one is willing to help. I’m very disappointed. My ceredit card has been charged twice. TOTAL OF $167.00.

  • Alain

    Ivis,
here what you should be doing:

File in a REPORT for INTERNET FRAUD to:
    -LOCAL POLICE
(if they don’t take such complaints, they will redirect you to the right place)
-Chamber of Commerce of your State Division Consumer’s Protection
    -IC3
    -*FTC
-BBB (if you can track down the companies name charging you)

    if you’re in CANADA:
    -PHONE BUSTERS

    If you’re in Europe:
    -INTERPOL

    Next:
    -Cancel your Credit Card IMMEDIATELY,
    if you can’t,
-REQUEST a reduction of your Credit Limit to it’s MINIMUM
-Send a letter to your Credit Card Company to DISPUTE all the CHARGES explaining you were victim of Internet fraud.

*Don’t do it over the phone because Credit Card Companies tend to systematically refuse to recognize a dispute over the phone (understandingly, because too many people (not to say A__ Holes) tend to try to abuse a system based on “thrust”.
If your Credit Card Company gives you a hard time, file in a Complaint to the Ombudsman (check on your CC Company Website)

    Finally:
-Put an alert on your credit file at the different Credit Bureau
(Equifax, Transunion, ..etc..)…This way, you avoid identity theft…

    Good Luck…

    *Note
the FTC is cracking down on these companies or the ones helping them but it seems to be a long process…

    I forgot:
    - Try to cancel with those companies using the phone number appearing on your bill
(chances are that they will but they will still charge you anyway)

    - put your name on a “do not call registry”
(those are often connected to fraudulent telemarketers and Real Estate Scams)

I was surprised to find their ad on espn page, too. The first link is from PAcouriernews.com, then myhomecashkit.com and ssl.secureformnet.com!

I came across the Google Profit website today, December 27, 2009. It sounded too good to be true. So, before submitting my credit card information I decided to google the company name to see if any ‘Scam’ notifications came up. They most certainly did. I quickly went back to the page where you put your information in, and deleted it all and clicked off of the website. Who has money to lose in these tough economic times? As of today, the terms and conditions are: $1.99 shipping fee, and if you don’t cancel within 3 days (yes, now the cancelation period is 3 days), then you automatically enter into an agreement to pay $77.00/month. But…there is a “one time initial fee of $144.00″ that is non-refundable no matter what.

Originally, I thought, well….sometimes you have to invest a little to make money, but I am glad that I read this blog and prevented wasting my hard earned money at all. Thanks.

    Hi!

I am broke so I got pulled into this scam too. I knew it was a scam, but I found the advertisement on http://www.Time.com. Time is a trusted site for news and a partner of CNN. Why would such a credible webiste allow to run these adds? upon damage, can’t you sue time and CNN too?

I bought the two $1.92 stuffs few minutes ago. Now, I’ll check the cd and cancel my subscribtion, and will let you know the details on CD.

There should be people’s union against scams. I hate this.

    Thank you all.

It’s hard to say making money from google is a scam or not. I am always before joining any site, most of these programs have monthly charge a few days after you join.

  • Rick

I signed up just to see what they were selling, $1.95 was worth it to me. Now I am going to make about 1000 copies of the CD they sent me and mail them all back to them via regular mail and fill up their P.O. Box.

This very thing happened to me, i never got the kit, and my money was never returned. Even when i asked for another one to be sent to me, they said that they would do it, but charge me for the disk. Then i just told them to cancel. I gave up trying to get my money back.

“Google Profits” is a total scam!! I signed up with them back in July 09. They charged me for the cd,also gave my information to a free dinner membership, free shopper discount, and they all charged me monthly fees. I then had to call each business individually cancel. My worse head ache is “Google profit” which is now “Internet profit” they charged me $99.00 first month. After calling and was directed to so many different pepople they finally settled on refund me back $49.60. Now, in January they ar charging me $47.50 plus an out of state charge. I am waiting for a refun. I have emailed BBB. I just want to get the message across that it is a SCAM.

i am a victim of this too…i saw an add that says $1.99 to register, so i did. the next thing i was charged $78.14, so i searched for their number and finally found one scam report that suggested a company number. i called and they promised to return the money which they did the same day. i told the agent to “Cancel All my account” and he said yes! so i was not worried at all. it was last year october. two weeks ago i checked my credit card statement and i saw that i was charged 28.18 by two companies!!!

I called jan. 15, 2010. they promised cancel my account and refund the to 28.18. so i waited. after seven days of waiting, i called again (jan. 22, 2010) and was told that there was a problem with their system and that their old manager was kicked out ( which is not my concern at all!) so i said okey…

jan. 27 i called again and they promised me again…same old story

jan. 29 i checked my credit card and was surprise to see that i was charged again!!! so i called, talked to several agents that day and finally decided to talked to the manager. we talked and told me that when i signed up i agreed to be A PART OF THEIR TWO COMPANIES that’s why i was charged again and again!

to make the long story short he cancelled all my account and promised to refund the money the same day. i was thankful that finally it’s over!!!

today i checked my credit card statment again and saw that i was charged again???!!!! WTH!!! i called and their office is close…

    IT’S A SCAM….SCAM…SCAM….

Its really sad how many people are searching the web for ways to make money because they are so desperate for work; makes me angry that people like that scam them. Its worse than stealing in my opinion and I hope they throw the book at them.

The internet today is awash with scammers. A glossy website that offers something too good be true is an easy sale. We must be careful out there
