For Twitter users out there; you’ll have no doubt seen one of Wednesday’s trending hashtags – #byebyemovember. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a typo of November, no no, far from it.
I love Google’s new Multi-Channel functions in Analytics; I also love gaming.
Now we have that out of the way, I’m going to teach you how to find the kill-stealers of your online campaign through the assisted conversions in the multi-channel functions section of Google Analytics.
Greeted by stacks and stacks of bacon sandwiches when I arrived at the Think Vis conference at Leeds’ swanky Alea casino, all my expectations were instantly surpassed. What can I say? I’m easily pleased (and was horribly hungover). So after chowing down on some much-needed grease and plying myself with three cups of tea (and, er, a couple of naughty biscuits), we were called into the top room by our convivial host, Dom Hodgson.
Still buzzing from all the excitement of the Advertising and Marketing magazine’s Agency of the Year awards, our Malaysian office are thrilled that they attended the ceremony last week as nominees for Digital Agency of the Year.
Although international company Mindshare overtook Branded3 at the last hurdle; as such a small agency; our Malaysian branch were delighted that they’d be shortlisted against some of the biggest digital agencies in the world.
In the last six months we’ve noticed a considerable increase in demand for our Social Media campaigns, this of course includes Facebook and Twitter, but also requires integration with blogs, news feeds and websites in general, and this is where I have to tell people: “What you need is a digital strategy.”
Developing digital strategies is what our consultancy service is all about, it’s looking further than just your website or updating your Twitter feed, and looking as well at all of the digital channels which you want to engage with your audience, and most of all ensuring that there is consistency within your brand message.
Well that’s another year exhibiting at Internet World over, and once again, the Branded3 stand received an overwhelming response, making the three-day event a huge success.
Surrounded by all-things digital, and enjoying the free education programme; the Branded3 team learnt plenty about our industry and came away with some valuable experiences. We’ve managed to whittle our favourite bits from the digital exhibition this year down to five, and here they are:
The approach of many companies is to separate web development and SEO between two specialised agencies, sometimes even going somewhere different for the design; but what we’ve found here at Branded3, is that this method is deeply ineffective.
We’ve pioneered an approach here which integrates all aspects of web development; and its results speak for themselves. In this post I’m going to explain why the traditional method of so many is flawed, and why an integrated agency can produce seamless, effective results.

We all know the impact of social media has been huge; not only on our lives, but on businesses too. There are now agencies which focus solely on advertising on Facebook; and there are social media consultants which are being outsourced to look after company social media accounts.
There’s no denying what the likes of Facebook and Twitter can do for your company; the business leads it creates and the unfiltered connection to your customers is unrivalled; but my question is, are these ‘specialists’ which have emerged from a growing trend, really necessary for an effective company?
Through experience, my favourite language for the .NET Framework is probably F#. True, it doesn’t fit into every situation; I don’t fancy writing a website with it for example. But for scripts and utilities, there’s nothing better.
You can run things interactively using F# Interactive or you can compile something up and use it as a normal executable. It’s super-fast to prototype with, which is great when you’re just throwing ideas around the office like we often do at Branded3.
Branded3 have unveiled B3Labs; an exciting creative blog which delves into the minds of our skilled specialists, and shares their thoughts and expert opinion on all-things digital.
So what can you expect to see in this space? Well, considering we have an unmatched talent for web production and SEO, we decided it would be useful to others, to display this on our site.
It may only be April, but the preparations for this year’s Leeds Digital Festival in November are already well underway. And in an interesting twist; the organisers have announced that the brand identity will be left to the collaborative creative ability of Leeds digital professionals and enthusiasts instead, at a specially arranged one day event.
Never one to miss an opportunity; Branded3 are getting involved; sending our very own Head of Design Andrew Machin, and Interactive Designer Max Shearer along to the ‘Design Day’ event next Saturday to offer their expertise to the mix.
