With some well known affiliates launching Lewis Hamilton websites with the intention of monetizing them using programs like Auction Ads now seemed like a good time to do some analysis of how Lewis Hamilton is winning on the web as well as the track.

The first thing to do is look at Blogpulse to see how many blog posts have included the words Lewis Hamilton over the last 6 months. The spikes are when he had a good race and the current peak shows that he is more popular than ever.

Lewis Hamilton popularity

Disappointingly the official Lewis Hamilton website is not finished yet and has another few weeks until launch. Google has this at number 1 for the Lewis Hamilton search term along with a .co.uk version at number 8.

The Alexa ranking for the official Lewis Hamilton site shows the same peaks as the Blogpulse chart, it will be interesting to see how the traffic increases when the site is actually launched.

Lewis Hamilton on Alexa

I suspect it will be quite easy for a new site to rank on Google for some relevant search terms as there isn’t too much competition at the moment. Also Google will probably not use the sandbox filter as aggressively on a relatively non commercial low competition phrase like this.

Google Trends shows some solid growth for the Lewis Hamilton search term, any term that has enough volume to even appear on Google Trends is worth pursuing.
