Airbnb – Night at the Olympic Trials

Ahead of the Rio Olympics, official supplier of the games, Airbnb, is offering two lucky people a chance to live like champions for one night, with a golden room as your podium.

The gold medal-inspired room has been designed to include a range of apparatuses typically used in the sport. These include rubberised floors, a hanging rope ladder and lamp rings. Other features include a gold bed, ‘safety net’ hammock and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the arena.

The prize package will also include a stadium tour with Brazilian gymnasts Diego and Daniele Hypólito, who will take guests to the nearby Barra Beach for a private training session.

Kwik Fit – ‘Queen of Parts’

To celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, Kwik Fit has unveiled an incredible 3.5 metre piece of artwork made entirely out of used parts (around 800 individual pieces!) which took 280 man-hours to create – led by artist David Parfitt. The portrait helps to highlight the fact that the Queen trained and served in the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War II.

The ‘Queen of Parts’ will be touring Kwik Fit centres around the country, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

Tandem – Bank Prank

In an attempt to highlight the importance of good customer service, digital bank Tandem has created a prank video showing poor service in a real-life pub setting.

‘The Three Compasses’ pub in Hornsey, North London, used hidden cameras to capture pub goers’ reactions as their local boozer was transformed to include all the elements of a typical bank, complete with corporate bar staff, a numbered queuing system and ‘hold’ music – check out the full prank below:

Tandem executed the prank after a recent study revealed that the top 25 modern-day irritations included being kept on hold, unexpected fees and being transferred to different teams.

Missguided – #Pamborghini

Have you spotted the #Pamborghini this week? Online shop Missguided has covered a pink Lamborghini in photographs of Pamela Anderson – the new face of the brand.

The flamboyant car is being driven around the country this week, and if you see it, be sure to snap a photo and upload onto Instagram using the hashtag #Pamborghini – you could be in with a chance of winning a £500 voucher.

Thorpe Park – Demon prank

Do you remember when illusionist and TV personality Derren Brown sent creepy Victorian dolls out among members of the public to promote the virtual reality ride at Thorpe Park? Well, if you thought that was scary, check out what he’s been up to now!

To publicise the release of Thorpe Park’s new Ghost Train, he’s set up a terrifying prank unleashing a demon-type creature – one of a number of characters in the experience’s 10–15 minute storyline – apparently in a bid to test reactions to it.

The video below shows the creature terrorising the theme park’s staff with the use of hidden cameras. Check it out for yourself, if you dare…
